TV cable hookup
I recently noticed that my TV cable is not hooked up on my truck, in fact apparently the shop that swapped out my TBI TO a Edelbrock Performer carb. removed it all together and didn't give it to me.
I would like to reinstall it so that my truck downshifts on acceleration like it's supposed to but I have no idea where to begin. Where does the cable or whatever that controls it come from and can I purchase a replacement from my local auto parts store? I ordered a bracket from Edelbrock (part # 8031) that is supposed to allow me to hook it up, but can't figure out how or where to mount it. Does anyone know? I also noticed when trying to figure out how to mount above mentioned bracket that the throttle cable makes a big loop before going to the carb. Is this OK or do I need to shorten or buy a new cable? Beginning to think the shop that did the work didn't know what the H**L they were doing. I've already had to take it back to them several times for other things and after the last visit I think I pissed them off so probably won't be going back. LOL!!! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, THANKS!!! |

By the way the truck has a 454 with a TH400 tranny.

T400 uses an electric kickdown. The switch is mounted on the accelerator linkage, either near the carb or under the dash.

Thanks, didn't know for sure how it worked.
Does the switch run to the tranny or what? Can I get all the parts to replace it at my local auto parts store as the shop that did the swap appears to have thrown it away? Also, has anyone used that bracket from Edelbrock mentioned in my previous thread? If so, how and where do you mount the darn thing, it's huge? |
