89 Suburban Rotor/Hub Removal & Carbon Metallic Pad Thoughts
Doing the front brakes on my 89 Suburban 2500 4WD and I need to replace the rotors. Any tricks or tips on removing the wheel studs to remove the hub from the rotor? Also has any one used the Carbon Metallic brand brake pads and if so any feedback on them.
Thanks Lee |

The wheel studs can be removed with a hammer but it would be far better to install and remove them with a press. If some body tells you to draw them in with a lug nut well your risking weakening the stud. To draw a wheel stud in with the nut is going to take well over 250lbft of torque. They are rated for 110lbft.
You know that car sitting on the side ofthe road with no wheel studs? 50/50 it was loose nuts of some half ass pulled the studs in with a nut. If you don't have a press hit a machine shop. They don't charge much.

Thanks for the info. I'll be off to the machine shop and get it done right.
