I'm currently taking on that project right now with my 68 gmc lwb. I found a 70 lwb rolling frame that was bent in the front for $40! I have removed all of the rear suspension pieces including the cross-members. So far I have cleaned and painted them and just waiting for a good few days to tackle the truck. All I'm doing right now is swapping the entire rear suspension then just the front coils from the 1/2 as well. The reason I'm not using the front suspension is that the kid hit something real hard on the passenger front, and I'm not comfortable using those components... If you want to swap the rear leaf for the coil setup you can use the frame crossmembers from a 67-72 and you can use the rear trailing arms from as far back as a 64 or 65...

good luck.
