gas in the oil?
what would make gas get in the oil? the fuel pump is good as far as i know, so far it has done this with 3 carbs, 2 fuel pumps, an old set of rings, and a new set of rings... only thing i can figure is cracked head?

If your heads aren't rebuilt do a compression test. on my blazer it ran pretty good but had a little humpy dump feeling in it and gass in oil. went through a bunch of carbs and chokes. Did a comp test had 150 across the board except one cylinder had 10. I would think a cracked head would be dumping antifreeze just a thought

This happened to me. My carb was rich and the cam was too big, so it fouled plugs and dropped cylinders. The gas will get in that cylinder and work it's way into the oil. Checking the compression would be a good idea too. Possibly even check valve adjustment.

Since you have replaced yours a couple of times, that shouldn't be it. Short driving trips or long idle times can contribute to fuel in the oil. Make sure your choke fully opens at warm-up and stays open afterwards.

this one happens to be a 327 too (the 332 in my sig-- 327 bored .030)
it did that in my 4x4, first i figured carb.. so i took off the holley, put on a edelbrock, changed the oil, it did it again, so i pulled the engine, rebuilt it, put on a new fuel pump, tried it with the holley again.. did it again.. ok gotta be carb right? i pull the carb, put on a rebuilt 73 quad, drove it 1/2 mile, brakes locked up, parked it, tried to start it a couple days later, and it did it again

You don't have the fuel line going to a vac port do you?
 just kidding man. (I have seen this done once though...but it was a ford boy and he is dummer than a rock...just smart enough to keep from crappin himself.)
