Gas tank screen filter #?
Need to replace the screen/filter on the inside of the gas tank, anybody know the part # for the local napa or whoever parts store? or any vendors got a couple?

Personally...I would leave it off. I normally remove it from my tanks first thing after buying. It's kinda pointless.
1. You have a fuel filter...right? It is easier to get to than this thing inside the tank, right? So why is it needed? 2. it can help cause vapor lock. If the screen causes much of a restriction, it'll lower the pressure in the fuel line which in turn lowers the boiling point. You should have alll restrictions (filters) on the pressurized end of the fuel pump. |

no problem...many ppl don't know about the lowering the boiling point thing, and many more will argue it untill blue in the face...but they are wrong.
I kinda wonder why the screen was there to begin with. The mechanical pump doesn't have clearances of .001 inches...a grain of crap can go through w/out damaging it...so why was it there? |
