Carburator question
Hi all:
Is there any option for reducing my gas mileage, even a little? My rebuilt 327 and Holley carb has GREEAT torque, but it's sucking down gas so fast I can barely get from home to work without a fillup. I see lots of carbon in my exhaust pipes, and smell fresh gas a lot. I know this could be from the breather, but could also be from a lot of unburnt gas in the carb. Also PO seems to have removed the choke butterfly from the carb. Would this contribute to low gas mileage? I heard about a Rochester carb with low-flow primaries and big secondaries that only kick in when you need them? Sounds like a good solution if it's real. Any help appreciated.
