USPS Lost some of my stuff
Hey guys!
I had a set of electric fans and a trans am air intake mailed to me via USPS ground about 2 months ago now, and they still haven't gotten here, what does a guy do about it? Granted, I didn't pay that much for most of the stuff, but I'd still like to get it rather than have to go through some lengthy procedure to get my money back and have to get some new stuff anyways...

Contact the seller, Russell, and see if they insured the package. The power lies with them. You basically can't do sh|t. Sorry.

Do you know for sure the guy mailed it?
Did he get delivery confirmation or any tracking number? Im not sure on the #'s but I believe all USPS packages are gauranteed for at least $100 value whether they buy insurance or not...insurance is only needed if the value is higher.

Kinda sucks i might have p!ssed 5 bucks down the drain. Then again, it is an 800 page catalog so hopefully its still on the way. 4th class IS book rate....

No, they are not because the boxes were returned to sender in the uS and if they had entered through customs here a tracking/billing label starting with 3SPL.... is stuck on the box, the custom papers are signed and tagged and so on. Clear evidence they never arrived here. Also, if you knew how tiny the american car scene is here and that I am probably the only one in europe with all those nascar parts on his car you'd see that no one could use those part, to joe average theya re worthless.

Trust me TT you are not the only one in Europe with that kind of parts, not by a long shot. I'm under the impression american cars are far more popular in Scandinavia than they are in the rest of the Europe. I do know Finland and Sweden both have a huge, dedicated group of enthusiasts. From what i've seen in Finland we have a lot more American cars on the streets than in Germany, Denmark, France or the UK. That's just based on what i've seen with my own eyes. Sorry to hear about your ordeal with the USPS.

I said in the Netherlands, all that stuff, if it were to pass through customs comes in at either Schiphol Amsterdam (air) or Rotterdam (boat), I know for a fact the parts never went through customs because I would get a nice stack of tax invoices for the parts. Scandinavia is not exactly next to the Netherlands. The american car scene in germany is a lot bigger than it is here.
Fact is, the stuff was stolen somewhere in the US, otherwise they wouldn't have sent the package back to the sender. The stolen packages are not the only problem, often parts arrive in boxes that look like they have been shot accross the ocean with a cannon, it's simply rediculous. I pay hundreds of dollars for the shipment tand I get a water coaked, banged up box. They even managed to break the snout off my brand new stock car products dry sump pump and they weren't too pleased when I presented them the bill for rebuilding it. |

Sorry to hear about your issue.
They don't honor insurance either.

USPS is a bunch of thieves, they "lost" so many of my parts it's not even funny.
One package I received was opened and surprisingly my portable sun scop (expensive) was MIA, they didn't do anything about it. A batch of ARP engine fasteners went MIA too. Another large box of mine still has to be delivered after 2 years, it was packed with high dollar racing parts amongst which were a wilwood 2 p2dal setup w/3 mcs (2 for brakes w/ bias adjuster and 1 for clutch), a lot of an lines & fittings, 2 modine oil coolers, a canton mecca electric oil pump, billet inline oil filters (screen type), cooler ducts a stefs oil/water seperator, an aeromotive a2000 fuel pressure regulator and lots of other stuff. That's thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff stolen and I'm helpless to do anything about it. I have cooled down since but man I was ready to take my chainsaw, hop on a plane and just behead some people over there. Good to ehar your stuff did arrive. Someone over there in the US is building a nice race car, at lest he has some good parts to make a good start |

I thought that you'd gotten that sorted out. It was their problem that they put that it was some stereo equipment worth a crapload of money, not yours... Seatbelts shouldn't have had anything but a brokerage fee on it, and that brokerage fee shouldn't be more than maybe 20 bucks Canadian...
