dana 44 front diff.
i have a 71 gmc 3/4 ton 4x4. It has 1 ton spindalls on it and im having a hard time finding drumsfor the front I was told that my truck has 1 ton susp.. ?? dana 60 in back .dana 44 in front with 1 ton spindalls?? Previous owner say he bought it new from dealer in saskatchewan.i found shoes for the back but no drums. I cant seem to find drums or shoes for the front.... Ive exhausted my suppliers, any suggestions??

shouldn't a 71 have come factory with disc fronts?

Drop the drums and go disk brakes. 1 ton spindels would only fit a D60 I think. People see 8lug and assume 1ton.

If you do have drums up front w/ open knuckles then somebody swapped in a 1970 3/4 ton dana 44 axle on you. This is a one off year and drums are hard to come by. I bought my front drums for my 70 off of Jerry Moss, used. There was no 1 ton suspension for the 4wds. Though, w/ an H072 in the rear w/ 13" brakes, you could haul quite a bit.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |

the serial # is ke2341z60844. It is a dana 40 with 1 ton susp. Camper special is what i was told
