Cab Light Lense

Can you still buy the factory cab light lenses. I found a # on 1. It is Signal Stat 9069 or 6906. Thanks Tim.

If you are referring to the behind the head above ya' cab light they are being reproduced. Several vendors offer them, not sure of the price. From time to time I see them offered on eBay, supposed as NOS GM parts, again not sure what they bring price wise. After a few years the heat from the bulb and just age sure makem' brittle ! Pull it out and falls apart in your hands.

They were avalible on all trucks...not just 3/4 and up.
I'd bet they are still avalible at the dealer. They were on the larger trucks well into the 70's, and I think even into the 80's.

They Are Availible At The Dealer Here In Abilene Tx. They Said They Were Used Up To About 78 Or So. I Have A 70 Cst 1/2 Ton Cab For Sale That Has Factory Cab Lights.

The ones you get from the dealer are the later model style. They may even look better than the original "hockey puck" style, but they are not the same ones that came on our trucks.

Cab Lenses

I Just Went To The Dealer And Asked For What I Needed And They Looked It Up In The Old Books. I Think They Ran About $9.00 Each.

I am not sure what year it was they stopped using the hockey puck style and started using the torpedo shaped ones, I think it was 71. Anyway, the newer torpedo ones will bolt right on up and look better IMO if you dont care that much about originality. The newer style are dime a dozen in the junkyards, I got a set of 5 that looked brand new off of an 80's C20 for $9 and they look great on my truck. They used them on 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks til '87, and 1 tons and suburbans until '91, and also used them on the bigger trucks too (not sure of what years).

Lense

Mine have been replaced recently, but one is cracked and I don't need a place for rust to start. I'll try the smaller # on the lense to see if it's a good GM#. Thanks Fellers.

I picked up about 12 of those at the junkyard for $2, most are faded but they're good for what I need 'em for. You can get those assemblies new at Napa is what I was told.

The '72 can use NAPA part 680-2488. That is just the lens, They also have the rubber and lens as an assembly.

Yes, I bought a few at the dealer, but not as cheap as John. I'll have to check at NAPA. Thanks Tim.
