one ton axles, drivetrain - NH
I have a matching set of front and rear one ton axles from an 85 Chevy K30 one ton, single rear wheel. The rear axle is a 14 bolt full floater, with locker, and 4.10 gears. The front is a Dana 60, also 4.10 gears. Some rust on these axles, but they should clean up nice. $1000 for both. I also have a TH400 and New Process 205 transfer case from the same vehicle. I am asking $250 for the tranny, and $500 for the transfer case. Call Jeff at 603 969 7028.

what? nobody's interested? can you guys give me some feedback? I've checked prices around (for the axles) and that's a good deal (for a matching pair) as far as I can see. If these don't sell, I may have to buy a truck with a good body and make a decent truck out of it... he he he. I have a great wife, but if I can't sell them, I will have to use them
Is it that tough to get the rust off them? Is it necessary to dip them, or is a wire brush and hours of manual labor a good investment? There's a guy in Mass. who has a big tank, will dip the frame for $650... Saw a nice 1/2 ton K10 black with the newer Blazer/Suburban grille in the Autohunter. I really would like to find a southern truck with no rust though.... Thanks!! I've got to do something to stay out of trouble |

You should try and post them on coloradok5.com, those guys love this stuff. Sounds like a deal to me though. Good luck on the sale.

Thanks Adam, something will happen one way or the other. I really would like to put a nice truck together, but if they do sell, I could use the money.

i paid $800 for a K30, and would've been happy to leave everything but the 60 sit where it was for that price. i dont think your $1000 for the pair is out of line at all.

Is it a gov-lock in the 14 bolt or a detroit locker? if it was a detroit it would definitely help the resale value.

ok....wallet hates me for it....but would yuo consider seperateing the 60 an 14? if so...how much for the 60..... mebbe we can work something out.

hi guys, thanks. for some reason I didn't get notified on these last few replies. I think I found a good cab, which I'd rather do anyhow... I think it has the factory locker, which probably is more of a limited slip(?) does anyone know? I am planning on putting a 350 in it, 454s are just too expensive, impossible to find, and if I did have one, it would be saved for a future Camaro or Corvette... It would be easy to put a 454 in it later anyhow... Just need to plow and get to the dump, maybe drive it to work at some point. Thanks!! take care

Thank you for posting those John, I tried getting into ColoradoK5 but needed a login, and really don't expect to be there all that much. I guess at this point I am thinking I will try and fix up this truck. Thanks for your help!

if you were closer to california Id be interested in the axles.. $1K is a very good price for the pair.. as for the rust, its not that big of a deal so long as it didnt do any real "structural" damage.. if it were me restoring those, Id either take it to an industrial media blaster and have him make a few passes on them, orrr if I was trying to save money, Id get a big handheld wirewheel (a big one, not one of those little 4" ones) and have at it.. its not that hard to clean em up...

thanks plumbcut, sounds like some good advice. I didn't want to dip them, because then I'd have to take the carriers and gears out, and I don't have the tools (or the know-how) to put them back together properly. Plus, I need to keep the costs down. I found a couple of good cabs which I am hoping to take a look at after Christmas, reasonably close. I just bought a nice 3/4 suburban which should tow my junk around just fine... and hold all four kids too! Have a good one, thanks for the help!
