i was curious if anyone knew how the new complete doors or new fenders that are reproductions fit with original equipment. i seen one guy with a 68 that had repro fenders that didn't even line up at all with the hood or original door edges. has anybody encountered any problems using these? thanks a bunch.

Body panel alignment is often a case of the installer verses the panels themselves. The GM assembly manual (which some guys are too cheap to buy) recommends spacer shims for panel alignment --- some guys complain but don't take the time or effort to align stuff. If the body mounts are shot, aligning panels can be a problem too. NOS stuff is good but so is a lot of the newer Repop stuff. In every case, you need to take the time to align things with some shimming and tweeking ---it's just part of the process. How many 67-72 trucks have you seen with the back of the hood sticking up??? Common problem but simple fix for those who know how!!!

I agree wit huck,a lot of times it's the installer not the parts.But working in the body shop when I was younger,I have seen some of the generic parts that were too short,body lines in the wrong place,ect.Granted this was mostly on imports,as that is what the boss liked to work on

I would buy good quality parts.A few more bucks to avoid a nightmare is good insurance IMO.

If you want exact originals Goodmark Industries has obtained the stamping rights FROM GM to reproduce parts for the 67-72 trucks. They are the original gage metal and just like from the factory. I have been to swap meets and seen "repro" fenders that had crease marks and lips around the front of the fenders. Lots of poor quality cheap stuff out there. Like everyone else has said, it's aslo very important to spend A LOT of time pre-fitting parts using shims.

i`ve got repo`s i set up on my truck and they fit with very little effort at all, and looked good too.

As I understand it Goodmarks front fenders are supposed to be Tri Plus repackaged and sold by Goodmark.
