I Actually Used My Tow Hooks

I used my new (to me anyway) factory tow hooks this weekend. I pulled out two large lemon bushes. Yeah, I know I could have backed up and used the trailer hitch ball, but what fun is that?

very nice. we used our cherokee to pull a bush out at the old house, had to put it in 4wd, then 4 low, and it just wagged the jeep around like the end of a dog's tail. eventually, we backed up right next to the bush (there was the bush, then a 2 ft sidewalk, then a downhill yard), and floored it. smokeshow, and BAM right into the street. now THAT was a freaky ride.

next time I'm using the CJ7, in 4 low. that thing will NOT slide. then again, posi diffs in both ends will do that...

I just finished pulling a bunch of Juniper bushes out with the Burb. I chained them up and let the wife do the pulling, She thought it was a cool Idea

My thoughts exactly. Have you seen those damn things. You could probably beat the truck to pieces with them and still have a nice pair of hooks. :p

Sorry, did I lose it.

Yeah, you guys are right...they're made out of forged steel iirc, very tough. The only messed up set I can remember seeing was a pic posted on this board, someone had a truck with the 69-72 style towhooks that had the straight hook with no bends, but they apparently heated them up with the torch and hammered them both over to one side,

You know, I tried that once in my 4 cyl S-10 w/ an open differential. Didn't work out so well. All I did was dig a single hole in the grass.
