There is an install article here on one of these boards somewhere. I had it saved but when I did the Autometer in the Dash, I threw it away.

Question Tach dash

I have a question about putting a Tach in the dash... The ones I've seen have all been chevys with the turn signal indicators in the bezel mine is a GMC with the indicators IN THE HOLE where the tach will go. Any solutions to that problem (besides replacing the cluster)?

I think going to full gauges is your only option. I believe you will have to change the front wire harness when you switch. Sorry to burst your bubble!

I just looked back to that camaro tach post and that looks like its the answer to my problem! No full cluster replacement, no rebuilding the old cluster with new circuit boards, etc. etc. Is the installation as simple and foolproof as it sounds. I have never actually hooked up a tach before, so I am 100% new to this.

EDIT: I also see some aftermarket units fit. 3 3/8" the correct measurement? Would this be any easier than the camaro tach install? I don't care that much about original look.

Does the Camaro tach need any kind of filter circuit with it?
