Get one with 4 wheels instead. It's money well spent.

I just bought a 1000lbs stand with 4 wheels from Northern Tool for $42. It is not on their website anymore...but I did find it in the store.

I got a 2000 lb engine stand from Harbor Freight. I bought it on sale. Now they're 89.95 retail. But it's a good stand. I had a project 292 L6 that was nose-heavy due to 2 more cylinders in a row, so I needed the extra beefiness and 2 front wheels. It worked good. (That engine is now installed!) I also intend to rebuild a 454 in the future. Best to wait for Harbor Freight to have a sale on the engine stands, then they discount them big time.
