speaker set-up ?

I purchased a complete truck speaker set-up without realizing I have no grille in the dash. I need a blazer speaker set-up like the pic. Also, it does not look like a truck speaker will work with this type of grille...different edges.

I have been in the process of figuring this out too. Initially I was planning on taking a regular underdash speaker and trim off the excess metal, then I saw that custom auto sound has a speaker that is the same shape as the hanging style. What I was planning on doing was taking the speaker grille to a place that sells speakers and seeing how it lines up with the speakers they have.

I have not heard good things about the products offered by Custom Auto Sound. Of course, I'm sure they must sound better than the stock speaker.

How hard is it to find the grille/bracket for a blazer ? I need it all. Looks like I may have to do a hidden, modern stereo set-up and leave the AM in the dash for looks.

My 72 Blazer looks exactely like the Blue blazer in the pic above (including speaker). I would be willing to let the complete set-up go for $50 plus shipping.

dtlilly,

I'll get in line for that speaker setup if teamharvey doesn't pick it up.

So what is the story with the Blazer speakers ? Did any of the dashes have grilles ? The reason I ask is because I have only seen a couple with the visable speaker set-up, even those that are "completely" restored.

Only one of the four Blazers/Jimmys dashes or complete bodys I have owned have had the speaker grille. As far as I can seem there doesn't seem to be any pattern behind wether or not the underdash speaker is used.

Do the AM/FM stock radios have the same speaker setup?
