Talking Progress

Well, I got the 74 on the road

That SM-465 certainly took a bit of getting used to, but I am able to shift it pretty good now, just need to back the clutch off a bit, I feel I gotta lift my foot up too high to get her to grab :p

I still plan to pull the box off this truck and replace it with the box from my 80, find it some fender flares to help cover the rot up a bit, and give it a quick paintjob to make it one color. I want to sell the truck as a work truck in the spring, its got an excellent drivetrain, just doesn't look so pretty :p For the next couple of weeks it'll be blue, white red, maroon and primer colored, lol :P I might also put the blue and white fender from the GMC onto this truck, this one is pretty much shot, and the one from the GMC won't be used anymore, so there is no reason why not to

I also need to replace the driver's side door, something rattles like crazy in it, and the vent window was damaged after your's truly locked his keys in the truck this afternoon and didn't want to pay the locksmith nearly 200 bucks to fix it, and I also need to get a new cloth seat / green seat cover for the truck, the one it has right now squeaks while you drive :P I also want to swap it's power steering box with the one from my 79, this thing turns wayy too easily for my liking... The other problem it has is that the e-brake is frozen, so I need to figure that out as well...

Other than that, it seems to be a good truck You can find a soundclip of it here: http://www.zieglerdigital.ca/downloads/74-chevy.wma She idles a bit high yet, but I haven't had the time to get under the hood with a screwdriver to fix that issue :P

I'd love to come wrench on ol' Red with you! Be great fun (though you'd probally want me outta your shop after I broke something, I'm actually really amazed how well the 74 buildup went, lol)

You just gotta get out there and start doing stuff take it one small task at a time, you'd be amazed how quick it all comes together
