Freaking light switch!!!!! lol please help...
so I'm down to sanding ant painting my dash and I'm trying to get the intrument panel off and I can't get the light switch disconnected or disassembled??? can someone give me the rundown on this well kept secret... (well for me it is)

There is a button on it to remove the knob. Sorry, don't remember if it is the top, bottom or side.

Kind of, but it sticks up a little more. It has a spring under it that is visable once you get it out. If you have an LMC catalog, take a look at the illustration.

All a guy has to do is pull your light switch knob all the way out-like turning on the headlights- then depress the small button on the switch itself.....this will let you remove the knob and rod by pulling out. now you can unscrew the bezel holding the switch to the dash.

Helps if you can bend your arm half way between the wrist and elbow. Also a forth knuckle on each finger helps.

However, if the "designed method" of pushing down the button to release the rod doesn't work, (and it rarely does for me) just turn the knob hard counterclockwise till it twists off. ON install, use a tiny bit of gorilla glue in the knob hole. (:>)
