Looks Like I Will Be Busy!!!!!!

Wow, I just got some new parts from ECE, looks like I will be busy for a little while.

The parts I received where:
2 inch drop front springs (already have 2.5 inch drop spindles)
6 inch drop rear springs
rear shock relocator kit
super track bar
rear shocks
trailing arm bushings
Extreme Drop Center Crossmember

Before I can put all of these items on the frame I need to have it media blasted and powder coated.

I will try to post pics of the progress.

15x8 Rallys, 245/60/15 fronts,275/60/15 rears. Well worth all the work.

Thanks, I trying to get an idea of what the 4/6 drop looks like. I almost went with air bags, but decided to use the money for other things.

Cool deal, I just bought the whole 4/6 drop kit from them as well Tuesday. A little bit of $$ but great customer service and very nice quality parts. I will be running a 235/60 in front and a 285/70 in the rear on 8 inch Vette rallys. I will post pics when I am done this weekend

I live in Turlock, just south of Modesto.

The way my truck is set up right now, the PO heated the springs front and back, looks to be similar to a 3-5 drop but done all wrong. Just would not be fair to do a direct stock to drop comparison. But I can shoot before/after pics no promlemo I just need to get my arse out and buy batteries for the digi cam. Plus I have never posted pics of my rides, with exception of the Chevelle I think.

Can't wait to get started this weekend, I even went down to the local pick-n-pull and tore out a 1 1/4 ich front sway bar for the front out of a 85 one ton and picked up some new poly bushings. The poor truck has taken a back seat so to speak for a while now to other life things such as buying a home and doing the Chevelle thing for a while. I decided to pour some cash into this and get it road worthy once and for all

It must be a popluar thing around that area. When I bought my first truck (1971 short fleet) I bought it in Turlock, and that same thing was done to it. Back then I was in High School, and I didnt know as much, and didn't have the time to fix anything, so I took it to Northern Tire ( I think was the name of it, on McHenry, right across from the old store "The fast Lane"<God I miss that store>) Anyways, I took it there, and got the whole front end redid for like a grand. I know, it was a lot of money, but like I said, I didn't know my hind hole, from a hole in the ground Anyways, looks like you got a plan...good luck...and I will concur with everyone, let's see some pics when you are done.

I just ordered my 4/6 drop kit from early classic on Tuesday as well. I also ordered a lowered fron sway bar and stainless steel brake lines. I cant wait to get this stuff and put it on my truck. I will be running 20x8.5 255/45/20's up front and 22x9.5 265/40/22's in the rear.

trifeflynn, yes, almost every short fleet truck here is slammed either with the 4/6 or airbags. The infamous swap meet here had a few for sale, none of which were near stock height. Cool with me, at first I looked at saving some dough, and considered the 3/5 spring only but after looking at many different trucks, I had to have the 4/6. Looks way to natural to avoid

Good to see another 'local' on here, even if you live so far now.

I will get some pics up asap, I need to get my camera powered up and get them uplinked to here. It should look good when done.

GHS, I also ordered the lowered mounts for the sway, my truck did not come with a factory bar at all (6cyl) so it was a good choice over the stock mounts. I did not want to use the stock mounts and be hitting things like curbs and large speed bumps. TXfirefighter kind of sold me on them as well with his write ups and good picture coverage of the instal.

Well, I installed the lowering sway bar brackets on the truck last night. Those factory rivets were not my friend

Anyhoo, the brackets could not have been any more perfect, they fit fantastic

Now on to the rear shock relocator brackets tonight, then the 6 inch drop kit.

Yes, I was building a pro street, But decided to go a different route. I have a big hole in my pocket know. As soon as I finish swapping parts, I will try to sell the powder coated narrowed frame. Thanks for remembering.

67shortie, those rivets on the sway bar brackets and shock mounts suck. Once you get all the rivets removed the job seems to fly from there.

I agree I spent alot of time drilling out all those rivets. I also had to drill out the 10 cross member rivets, shock mount rivets, exhaust mount rivets, and front sway bar rivets. Now that it is done things will go together much easier.

You probably had nightmares about rivets for a week afterwards. For some reason my sway bar mount rivets were some of the most difficult I've had to remove. I'd heat them with a torch and then hammer on them with my air hammer and they were still a pain.
