Do I have a true 4x4
I have checked the vin and model decoder already on the forum. I own a 1972 shortbed 4x4 350 with a 3-speed on the tree. I checked the vin.....it is CKE142S106582. Should there be a C in it? I looked for the model number on the glove box door but all it had was the vin again and this number KE10734, plus the options of course. My question is my truck a true 4x4, short bed etc.........I realize this has probably been asked quite abit I apologize for that. I am sort of new here. I love my truck, just want to make sure got the real deal. Thanks for your help guys!

It should be if there is a K in the Vin and (in your case) Model number {KE10734}. The C in the front of the Vin is a 1972 thing only and it just tells you that the truck is a Chevy.

You got to watch the vin and model codes are different, your model number KE10734 tells us it's a 1/2 ton 4wd shortbed(42" cowl to axle) w/ a fleetside bed.

Three on the tree? Is it a manual? I am pretty sure column shift was not an option in 72. Sombody correct me if I am wrong.
