Installing carpet in a 4x4
Am I correct in assuming carpet in a 4x4 cab is not glued down? I assume it is not glued down so you can pull it up to get to the tranny hump.
Got some of the insulation installed this weekend and test fit my late model seats. Also, should the insulation go to the edge of the door opening like in this pic or should I cut it back so when I install the sill plate it is only on top of the carpet but not on top of insulation? Was worried the thickness of carpet and insulation might make a problem.

I've done one 4x4 pickup and one 4x4 suburban. The original carpet was not glued down nor did I glue down the new stuff (from GMC Pauls, of course). I put in Brown Bread (looks kind of like what you have), but did it all the way to the doors. The new sill plates (stainless, from GMC Pauls) seemed to work fine over the carpet and insulation. I only did one layer near the doors, though. Went 2 to 3 layers over the hump, which kind of made the carpet fit too tight. That sound insulation makes a big difference!

The insulation I am using is from Home Depot. Saw a couple posts in the past where people have used it. I didn't want to spend the money necessary to use the good stuff and will be happy with this insulation.
