4/5 drop tire suggestions

For you guys who have this drop, what size tires will work with my 15x8 rally's?
I'd like widest possible out back.

255/60/15 for the front

275/60/15 for the rear

that might give you a little more rake than you would like though

hey

i agree with ocbaud thats what i put on mine on 15x8 ralleys with about a 4/6 drop looks killer although air bags are in the works for it

Casey, I have a pair of 10's with 295/65 Drag Radials on them if you want to try them. I am sure I will be down that way in a couple of weeks or so. They are huge, though.

Not with a good footprint on the pavement though...

I have 255/60's up front and 275/60's out back with a 5-5.5/7 drop and the rake isen't much IMO, but the wheel gap is just right. With only a 4/5 drop you might want a little more tire sidewall to fill in the gap.

SC, for 8" wheels you can't beat the 275/60 footprint & looks. If you want the fatter 295 or 305, step-up to a 10" wheel. You could squeeze a tire w/the bigger section width on an 8, but it just doesn't look right.

how would a 305 fit on a 15x10 wheel??? also, what would be the widest tire and wheel that i could fit under the rear of my truck with say a 7" drop???

BFG used to have the 305-50-15 Radial T/A & it looks sweet on a 15x10" wheel. I would say that's about the limit.... 10" wheel, 5" back space.

Running 275-50-15's on 15X9 Progressives on a 4/5 drop on my 83 short bed and she looks fine, running 295-50/275-60's on an 8" rim looks like your rollin' on doughnuts

Well, can you get a 10" rally wheel?
Seems like I got some rallys at the junk yard once off a Suburban that were 9 or 9.5" wide. Guess I'll be heading to the yard to look.

I know they're available through the aftermarket & I usually see them @ the swap meets (which I know you visit often ). Try searching through Stockton Wheel or Vintage Wheel Works websites for info.

i have 15X10 truck ralleys that I use at the track with a pair of 28X12.50's. Stockton wheel can build anything you want.

The ones I have were widened. They have the stock offset to the front, with an additional 2" backspacing.

I bought a set of 15x10 Truck Ralleys with a 4.5" backspace from Stockton Wheel and they fit great with a 275/70-15. It's close on the wheel lip, but they don't rub anywhere, even with a 6" drop on the rear.

I have a 4/6 drop . I run 235 60 series 15s on 15x8 rally wheels with a 1" wheel spacer. I have ground off most of the bottom lip on tha a -arm. On sharp turns my truck rubs. the biggest tire I could get on my rallys in the rear 275 60 series

Is anyone running or consider running 17" Rallys with their drop? There's a decent selection of tires for 17s to give a similar profile as the 15s. With the correct offset, it may fill the fender wells better without looking too over-powering and hopefully without causing rubbing problems. This may be one way of running 3" drop spindles without grinding the A-arm.

superchevy - What size of dropped spindles are you running?

I was told that a 16" rim would work on a 3" drop spindle. It may ... barely without any A-arm mod. 17s and up for sure.

I have 265/50-15's up front and 295-50/15's in the rear on my 76 stepside.
looks hella fat out back and has a full tire print. I can run a 275-50 15 up front too. My truck is dropped 5 and 5. also has a nice rake to it. I'm not computer savvy so if you want a pic I can email to ya.

The diameter of the wheel isn't as important as the back-spacing. I have 18" front wheels & they rub the lower control arms . . .... my 15" van ralleys don't.
