chevy van computer same as chevy pickup
i was wondering if a computer and fuel injection from a van is the same as chevy pickup. If so, is it possible to make a 86 chevy scottsdale fuel injected with the parts from a fuel injected van? I have a 86 and want to go throttle body and can't find a 87 pickup for the conversion. help???

All of the essential components are the same between the two, just the locations are different on some of the parts. Of course, the harnesses aren't interchangeable because of the difference in length between a truck and a van. Painless Wiring makes a TBI harness that will make the conversion a whole lot easier. The computer is the same (Part# 7747, I believe) . I accumulated all of the stuff for a TBI conversion a few years ago, but had a change of plans. Let me know if there's any way I can help.

the computer should be the same on all of the TBI trucks, IIRC. You may have to switch out the PROM and Calpack, depending on which engine the computer comes from (4.3, 5.0, 5.7, etc.)
