Where is my fuel filter?

Trying to find/replace the fuel filter on my '79 C20 with a 454. I followed the fuel line as best I could, and I don't see one anywhere. Where is it supposed to be? I'm guessing it just doesn't have one. When I got it there was no air filter, and all the fluids were below the dip stick...

It's inside the carburetor.

You'll need to unscrew the fuel line from the large (about 1" wrench) fitting on the carb, and then unscrew the 1" fitting. The filtre is contained within.

When reassembling, be very careful to not cross-thread that fitting into the carb. Also, there should be a very thin plastic/Teflon seal that snaps onto the 1" fitting, which should be visible once the fitting is removed from the carburetor body. Make sure that is in place when you reassemble everything.
