Need Advice On Hei - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Please help.

My truck has apparently killed another HEI module. This is the 3rd or 4th time in about a year this has happened. Last time I replaced the cap, rotor, coil, module, and center button in the cap.

The truck is an 84, the ESC has been disconnected and has a non-ESC HEI installed. The ESC plug was not jumpered, simply disconnected. The dizzy module harness was replaced within the past year. The truck has a 350, accel 8.8 wires and accel header plugs.

Is there a chance something related to the power lead to the dizzy is the culprit?

I am getting close to stuffing a rag in the gas tank and lighting it.
