What size lug nuts do our trucks have?
Hey guys,
I need to buy 20 new lug nuts for my new wheels, but I don't know the size. I know I need the acorn style just don't know if they are 1/2 -20's or what. thanks, Bryan

Good God, I thought I had heard it all. I check out this site all the time and I am amazed at the amount of technical questions there are. Our trucks are old and pretty basic compared to today's cars, yet there are thousands of things to talk about. I don't mean to make fun of you, bud. I just thought this was pretty funny!!

all depends on what year/tonnage your truck is.
I think the drum brake trucks (1/2 ton) are 7/16 with an increase to 1/2 inch in 71. |

Mine is a 70 stepside, but has been switched over to disc front brakes. I guess I'll just buy 20 1/2-20's and see if they fit.

1/2"-20 on the disc brake front end. Hope you chamged over the rear also. Like Longhorn said the earlier years were 7/16".

Well, I guess we are going to find out when I get there to swap the wheels and tires. I didn't do the swap so I have no clue.
