Quick clutch rod & clutch fork question...

Good evening. With the late nights working on the Blazer (trying to get it fully functional for a June 23rd run to the dunes)...I think I'm suffering from lack of brain function. I've completely gone blank on how the z-bracket clutch rod mates up to the clutch fork. I'd be forever indebted to somebody if they can shoot me a pic or two of that area. I think I've got all of the needed parts, but Gollie if I can't get them to fit right....trannies have never been my strong suit......

Much thanks.

You might need to jack up the motor or use a big hammer One end goes on the ball thats screwed into the block, the other onto the frame. Shoot me ur email, Ill take pics tomorrow morning for ya if nobody else has em.

Let me know if you might need a clutch fork or the spring for the pedal. I've got both in brand new shape, unpainted and ready to go. I'll be happy to part with them.

Pretty sure it's the correct fork for our trucks, but the one I have is slightly larger than my current fork. I can show pics if needed.

Shifty...thanks for the offer, but I'm set on those parts. I'm just looking to confirm the clutch fork set up....I think I figured it out tonight, but I'm looking for a pic or two to confirm that I'm got the fork, z-bracket to clutch fork rod, & the couple of little parts in that area set up right. Thanks again....

Which Hole Did You Use?

BB,
We talked about this in detail a few months ago. Just curious where you wound up putting the pivot ball and what what engine mount holes you used?
I FINALLY found someone with a factory BB/4-speed/2WD that sent me some pictures. I know yours is 4X4 so I was wondering what YOU did. It wound up being a VERY unique setup for my truck. The parts are on their way from MA.
I am going to post them for all to see when they arrive. I found it to be VERY interesting from a learning standpoint. I will DEFINITELY be fabbing a few duplicates of the engine bracket. Take care, and shoot me a PM if you have any questions, Mike

Mike...the set-up I used ended up being really slick. I used a Z-bracket of a '78, which uses the rear pivot ball location on the block. The rear lcoation cleared my headers nicely. I used the frame backet off of the same '78. I ended up drilling a couple of new holes in the frame to mount the frame bracket, nothing major there. Next came the kinda cool part....I've got a 3" body lift on my Blazer, the clutch pedal to z-bracket rod from the '78 would have needed to be lenthened to fit right on my truck. When I started looking at it closer though and played with a few parts that I had laying around the garage, I found the the rod from a six cylinder 67-72 fit almost perfectly. I had to drill a new hole in the dash for the rod, but other than that it literally was a drop in application...no mods required to the rod....that was nice considering the lift on my truck. The six cylinder z-bracket to clutch fork rod was also a perfect fit. Although I had a little trouble at the clutch fork end just getting the rod retained correctly. I'll snap a few pics and send them over so you can see the set-up that I ended up using.
