Setting a 58 Apache on a lat model frame
I have a 58 Apachie short bed and would like to use a late model frame, maybe a 1980 to 90 frame. Has anyone ever done it?
Thanks, Pete |

73-87 will work. you may have to change the rear spring mounts by moving them forward.

I am gonna use a 67-72 shorty chassis for our 58. There is a post on here by Radman i believ it is and it was a while ago, but he took pics of a guys truck that was on one of these frames and it doesn't look so tough to do

I used a 66 swb. took the frame mounts off of the 56 frame , drilled some holes and mounted them on the 66 frame. The 66 frame had the same wheel base, frame width, 1" wider track width and was straight in the same places as the 56. Fairly easy, cheap and you get a truck suspension without welding the frame. You can drop it too

My 58 fleetside shorty sits on a 64 chassis. I didn't do the swap, I bought it this way. But if you want pics of any mounts let me know. This frame is probably very similiar to the 67-72.
