Front Crossmember Question

I'm installing drop spindles and a PSC front end kit in my 81 pickup. I removed the upper and lower control arms and I'm going to have them sandblasted and painted. I'd also like to sandblast and paint the front cross member. I was wondering if the motor mount brackets (the ones between the frame and crossmember) will support the motor with the crossmember out, or do I have to support the motor?
