Truck value, opinions needed.

I just stumbled on a neat little truck. 1967 GMC 3/4 ton 2wd, with buckets, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and a V6 (!!) Never seen a combination like this before. It has a 14 bolt rear end too, and what looks to be a stock Turbo400 on a column shift too. I was looking at it earlier today and was way excited about it, so I snapped some pictures tonight.

What would you say this is worth? Body is in amazing shape, rockers and cab corners are perfect. Even checked rear floor supports, I have never seen a truck that didn't have those rusted through, that was new for me. Also has wood bed floor, tach, the list is huge. It does need some minor work, air conditioning isn't working but that may be because the knob on the dash is broken. Seller says truck runs but the carb is a little tweaked. And in the bed the front bed panel is dented good, and just barely knicked the cab because of it. Paint is poor quality, chipping in some areas. Grille looks like it was painted by hand. Now that I mention it so does the inside of the cab. Body, tailgate, bumpers - everything else looks great. I'll take more pictures during the day this week.

Take a magnet with you and check the rockers, cab corners, etc. You can reach up under the dash and move the air cond. controls to check that out. Looks to me like some questions need to be asked, not the least of which is the one about the V6 with a "tweaked carb".

How much is the seller asking for it?? Also, has the motor ever been touched?? How
many miles on the clock?? Gotta know the details before we can hang a value on it.

Great idea with the magnet. Tried that this morning, all panels check out. Odometer reads just under 70k miles, which in this truck I believe. So this morning after doing some research on 305 V6's (which I thought it was) I checked the block number and it's a 351E V6. Now that's a big block 6 to have that much displacement! This keeps getting better and better.

Seller was asking 3500 as you'll see in the pics. But oddly enough, we know some mutual people and he is selling it to me at the price he got it for: $2400

Oh, and I did look at the carb. My guess why the owner was saying it was rough, is on further inspection, the choke bracket is loose. Gonna try tightening that up, I wouldn't be suprised if that was the culprit.

I think this may make a nice older brother to my '66 GMC in my avatar. What do you guys think?

Heck I'd jump on it... I'd pay 2400 for it. looks overall pretty solid. Any probs it might have I would fix for that price...

3500 seems to be a reasonable price to me, especially for a 67 GMC, don't see too many of those, Offer 3K and see what happens.

You have a lot of high dollar oprions on her and the power brake booster looks like a smaller one than stock. looks like a great start I'd jump on it.

That is really an interesting truck! Great equipment and a conversation piece, for sure. Oh, the booster is a correct 3/4T dual diaphram model for 67.

Ok- so you have found a 67 GMC Red/ Red ( with BUCKETS no less!!) with factory A/C and you haven't bought it yet? I don't think his asking price is out of line, but I agree- I would take the 24, $100 bills up with me and buy it!! It looks like a great truck for the money!!

Sweet. I figured as much, just wanted everyone's valuable input to help talk me into it. This is my fourth truck, I really need to clear some space! Maybe I'll go over and give this other '67 I am selling on the board a huge price cut. Sucks to take a loss on something but hey, I need storage for all these pickups.

Anyone know of a Classic Truck Anonymous board? My name is Jake, I am a truck-a-holic...

Well the seller is out of town until Saturday, that's why. Who makes this 14bolt rear? I had never seen one before, it's a mirror opposite compared to my Dana60. Like the cover is 180 degrees. Just wondering if it is like the 60 and parts are readily available for them...

Wha? Now I'm confused... my 1970 CST/20 has a Dana 60 and it is 10 bolt, with the smaller end pointing toward the passenger side. This axle has 14 bolts, with the small end of the diff pointing at the driver side.

Crawl under it and take a look. It should have the number 60 write in the casting. Unless someone has changed the rear end for a newer one, that would make it a corperate 14 bolt. WES

Now that I look at it closer, that isn't the original rear end. Look at where the E-brake cables are. They come out the rear of the back plate... Something is strange about that also. Do you have a shot of the front of it? It looks to be a Corperate 14 bolt, but the e-brake cables come out the wrong way. It almost looks like someone flipped the rear end over before they rewelded the saddles and shock mounts. WES

Thanks for your input Wes! I'll probably pick up the truck tomorrow and start crawling under it and work on it. More updates soon...
