gear selector adjustment
howdy do
I'm trying to get the gear selector to be where its supposed to be ( park in park . drive in drive etc) (park-N-D-L2-L1 ) now ive adjusted the arm from the trans but i can not for the life of me get the shift indicator to be where its supposed to be. i did get it to lock ,you know when you put it in park and then you have to pull the lever to you then move down into a gear. got that working good but can not get the indicator to the right spot any ideas. please Last edited by pickemup; 07-19-2005 at 09:49 PM. |

You'll know if you have it adjusted properly if it locks into park, AND you can shift between N and D without pulling back on the shifter lever. You should NOT be able to shift left from N to R or right from D to L2 without pulling backing on the shift lever. It's a tedious process to get it just right. You have to make extremely small adjustments a little at a time.
If your shifter linkage is worn excessively, it will be difficult to get the indicator to line up exactly right. |
