codes on a 66
I've been trying to find all the paint codes, and motor codes, etc..., but can't find them on the firewall. I can see the rivet holes on the firewall though, where they used to be. I have 2 questions. #1, could this be a sign it was stolen, because it still has the vin, and #2, is there any other place I could find these codes?

Codes on 66
Look inside your glove box, if you are lucky the Service Parts Identification Plate is still there. If there, it will contain the optional equipment that came on the vehicle when new and the exterior paint code. If you can find the code I have a Catalog of Chevy Truck ID Numbers for 1946-1972 and can tell you what color it was when new.

It doesn't have a glove box. It has the door, but no box or any tags.

66+81 There should be a tag on the left kick panel with the paint codes and other option information.

That's mostly scratched off. It's almost like they didn't want me to see anything. I'll see what I can find on it.
