Will a low battery keep my truck from firing?
at the Dizzy, the hot reads 12.6 volts, when I start turning it over it drops to 9.6 volts. Will that keep the truck from firing?

I believe my mallory runs around 9.6 volts after going through ballast resistor. HEI should fire down to around 5 volts, points I'm not sure of, but it should fire at 9.6

should fire. Ive tested cranking voltage on mine with a fully charged battery, it drops similar to yours, and starts.
Is your truck not starting now? If not, were there any modifications made to it recently? Have you checked your timimg to make shure it is correct? DO YOU HAVE GAS?? In the carberator?? There is tons of reasons for a no start condition.
