Dupli-color spray bed liner, anyone use it?
Like the sign says. By box ( if it has a floor & 4 sides it's a box-- It's a Canadian thing ) so, my box looks pretty ratty and it's drivin me nuts. I was thinkin of just painting it but saw the Dupli-Color stuff and wonderd if it was any good? how many cans to do the inside of a long box? ( there's that word again ) how it looks and how permenant it is. If I just paint it later I could do a decent job.

I used it. Took 3-4 cans for a short stepside. The trick is to spray it from 2+ feet away. Mask well, shooting from that distance creates quite a wide pattern and make a lot of overspray. It shoots very heavy and if you try to shoot closer it will sag/run.

i've never used it myself, but one of my buddies has tried it another tried the herculiner. the dupli-color looked like crap and peeled all over. the herculiner actually came out pretty good. that might all be in the application of the two. i hear if you don't get it scuffed up really good that it won't last at all.
there was a guy on the board that tried the eastwood stuff awhile back and it looked killer. oh, do ya have a cap on that box eh? ![]()

IMO when it comes to spray bedliners, nothing beats the pros if you actually use your truck bed.
I have a Rhino liner in my GMC ![]() |

I've sprayed it into beds before. As far as the sticking, it all depends on the prep. There are others on the market that are better. But for a cheap liner, it's OK. I had a little left, and sprayed the floor of my truck.
As far as it sticking to wood, I've never done that, but again, depending on the prep work, there shouldn't be a problem with it sticking.

I've sprayed a few with herculiner. I've had trouble with it peelling later. I think its a moisture/temp problem. The stuff I've sprayed in the evening liked to peel in the low spots. I didnt feel any dew on the surface but I think that is what was happening. Even so 2 gallons in a short bed makes a very thin coat. I dont think I'd use the stuff again.

This is a pic of Bondo brand Tough Gaurd I recently did on my 71'. I taped a laser straight line around the perimeter of the bed and it turned out awesome for a roll-on job. Nice even texture and I've gotten a ton of compliments on it and it's really heavy duty too.

i used the herculiner once, but apparently i didn't prep well,it started to peel up,but my uncle sprays in rhino liners and i learned that you need to get a lot of good scuffs or scratches in the paint to get it to stick

IMO the Duplicolor truck bed liner sucks. I sprayed some as instructed and it looks like cheap flat black house paint.. hardly any texture. I am looking into some traction paint used on car haulers. Its cheap and looks tough.
