Hurricane Member Check-In

Guys,
I know that we normally try to talk trucks on this page, but in light of the recent events on the Gulf Coast, I think we should have a thread set up for members to check in and tell us that they are OK and to let us know about other members that are not able to do so. If any one determines that they or some other member needs our help, this will be the place where they can come and tell us what they need. I am seriously considering heading that way to help WHOMEVER may need it. Please respond if you are willing to help our fellow members or just offer your well wishes and prayers. Take care, Mike

Checking in from Pensacola, FL. A lot of wind and rain, but not as bad as Dennis. We faired MUCH better than our neighbors to the west. Keep them in your prayers, it's going to be a long recovery.

OK Liz

You bring up a good point because, I MYSELF don't participate in General Discussion all that much, so this is where I usually hang out also. I apologize to Barn9 for not seeing his thread, and appreciate the heads up about the other post in GD. I just hope everybody checks in, WHEREVER it may be. The more exposure the better. Take care, Mike

Im sorry if i came across wrong? or maybe reading into the reply in a way it was not meant

We have several members who we have not yet heard from and are deeply concerned about. We are trying to organize a drive to help those effected that are in need. And as always we worry about those we interact with on a daily basis in our extended family here.
I am only asking that they check in there also so we have a centralized post to keep track with. Krue and palf both have my number and said they would call when they could if they could not get back online soon, the night before the storm. Chickenwing has been intouch with member 55454 who is inline to go and help where he can. If anyone else hears from or knows anything about any other members please let us know .

PM sent. I might have worded that a little wierd, I apologize. I am really worried about those guys, that is why I will be going down to help soon. I wasn't being smart, but it DID look that way once I read again. Sorry about that. Take care, Mike

Be Careful

I have friends at Keesler AFB that I used to fly with. I'm sure they got the planes out of there early, so I am not too concerned about them, but I will be going down in military OR civilian status depending on what's needed most. For any of you other military guys, BE CAREFUL.

Checking in from Jackson. We got our power and phone services last night. Damage here is mostly trees and power lines. We had winds of around 70 mph. Mild compared to the coast or New Orleans.
Will talk to krue in the next hour or so and will take whatever is needed provided I can find it here.
Thanks to all of you for thoughts and prayers.

George

Hey everybody, I am checking in from about 120 miles north of jackson and I just got power back on at 8:00 am central time.

It is very, very bad from Jackson MS on south. Please pray for these people and I hope the other MS members will check in soon, espically those in the south half of the state.

The storm took out power virtually to the TN state line.

It is really, really bad down there.

Major Setback

In preparing for my trip south, I blew a MAJOR hole in one of my gaskets on the front of my 4.3 in the S-10. I am not quite sure which one blew, but it took me 5 gallons of Dex-cool and water to get it home. It is raining too hard to even try to troubleshoot it. I hope I will be able to get it fixed so that I can continue my trip. Please keep posting any info that anyone hears. Take care, Mike

Power is back on in Putter-ville! I never missed my air conditioner soooooo much until I lost it with a 4-yr old FEMALE!
She was worse than her mother!!!!!! And the fact that I can't make her understand WHY, makes it worse.

Other than having my roofing material in the back yard, no power for two days, and a boil-water condition, everything is fine!
Thanks for the prayers.

Thanks Liz

VERY glad to here about those guys. Bills mom lives not too far from me and I was afraid to call since she doesn't know me, so that is a relief. I am going to have to wait until I can fly down now because my truck is in NO shape to be going anywhere. I took a guy to get a transfer case that he desperately needs today, and it took 20+ gallons of water to make the trip. What a nightmare! Thanks for keeping this AND the one in Gen Disc going. Take care, Mike

Totally awesome. I was thinking about Bill and Ed all day at work. I'm still thinking of any of our other members in that area, and anyone that is involved in any way.

Anybody Still Not Checked In?

Just wondering if anyone is aware of anybody that has not been contacted, either here OR in General Discussion? I will let this ride until admin says otherwise. Great to hear about everyone that HAS checked in. Mike
