64 stepside
I purchased a 64 1/2ton stepside the other day that I have found out originally had the L6 inline 6 motor. Well the previous owner swapped out the original motor and tranny and and installed a buick V8. Which is no biggie, but here's the kicker. He welded the motor mounts SOLID. What I'm trying to find out is what motor mounts should I be using - factory 283/327 mounts or the buick clam-shell type mounts? I'll have pics later today to post up.

you will need to start with buick mounts and build supports for them.

I would be willing to bet the transmission mount is different too, depending on what transmission is currently in the truck. If he used the stock tranny it may be in the stock location. |
