73-75 Blazer with 78-up top?

Anyone done this or have pics? I have always wanted to do this to get that "targa top" look... I doubt I will ever get a 73-75 Blazer, though, but I would still love to see it done.

That just doesn't sound like a very good idea, IMO.

Why not? When I was in high school (in 1987), I put a targa top kit in my 84 Toyota Xtracab 4x4. It was great, but compromised the structure of the cab... A 75 Blazer is built for a removable top, bolting on a 76 or later top wouldn't hurt anything, and it would look great, IMO. It was actually an idea my friends and I were kicking around back then, but I have never seen one done that way.

the biggest problem I could see is the top of the doors being open. I don't like getting rained on, and I think it would be tough to get something in there as a filler.

I'm just talking about having it on to cruise around in. You would obviously have to use the correct top for bad weather. What can I say, I'm a child of the 80's, when the mini-truck scene was just taking off. Convertible trucks with shells on the bed were popular then, I always liked the way they looked.

Why make a full convertable into a targa? Isn't having the whole top off a lot better than just a small section?
