Truck Won't Start

i was traveling down the road and i was low on fuel and the truck started sputtering and died so i put more gas in it and primed the carb it just wont start i have tested the spark it was during the day but i couldnt see a spark, the fuel pump is pumping(removed the hose and had someone turn the key it pumped) any suggestions would be appreciated i need to either get it started asap or get it towed home

Mine has surprisingly died on a couple of occasions with no explanation. On both occasions it was an electrical part around the distributor, I can't remember what it's called , but it's a little bigger than a matchbox. I think it's white in color. Sorry about your delimna. Hope it works out soon.

Update: yea yea yea, that's it. Ignition Module.

Mine occasionally does the same thing....the Ignition Module is going bad---I think it is a black small box that sits beside/attached to the dist cap----I think----...I take the air cleaner off and tap it with a screwdriver...cranks right up after that........If your ignition has one-----the ignition module may be going bad or has gone bad,.......

The ignition module in the dist. is my bet. They have a habit of going out at the most inoportune times.

it will not just jump 180 deg. out. Did you remove the distibutor or just replace the rotor?
