88-91 grille conversion q's.........

I tried looking for this info here cause I'm sure its here somewhere. I like the look of the 88-91 grilles in the 81-87 pickup. I have a line on parts and wanting to know if its a direct bolt in/bolt up. I'm sure I need core support and all that goes w/that. Do I need to change fender/hood inner fender and or bumper?? If someone can point me in the right direction that would help.

John

I'm pretty sure on a 81-97 all you need to change is the core support, grille, headlight harness when you swap to the 88-91 front clip. There is a write up on the Colorado K5 site. I think the swap was done on a 73-80 that had previously had a 81-87 clip installed.

Along with what beaterC10 said, check out gchemist's site. He has all the details of the swap including a parts list.
