NP241 question
My burb has a NP241 that is leaking from the joint between the case halves. It's on the side where the front out put is. I see where the PO put rtv but it's still dripping out. I verified the bolts holding the case together are tight. Anybody ever open one of these up? I figure if I do it I'll go ahead and replace the chain. I was going to do this under the vehicle. Anybody see any problems with this?

If you have done a few as I have, you can pull the back half off the case while still in the truck. Cleanliness is important when reassembling the halves. Just make sure everything is lined up. Now would be a good time (if you have the money) to put a slip yoke eliminator in and redo the driveline.
