What is the best way to store fenders?

Before I assembled my '66 Chevelle I stored a set of NOS fenders for about 11 years by hanging them on the wall of my garage so they wouldn't get damaged. (I think these were the last pair of NOS'ers left on the planet!)
The main thing is to store them so they won't get damaged. Keep them dry too. If you have a dirt floor in your garage/storage area, keep them off of it.
