Finally done!...almost

Name: 72 GMC 3.jpg
Views: 293
Size: 93.8 KBWell after almost a year of tinkering and fixing, my 72 GMC Sierra Grande 4x4 is finally done....almost (lol). With the exception of an audio system and bed liner, it's complete. Powered by a 396 big block, 700R4 transmission, and a 208 transfer case, she's a smooth running machine. When I bought the truck last December I had no idea it was going to take this long to complete, but as they say "good things come to those who wait"

Re: Finally done!...almost

woah hold on. too many bling-inches on the rims and either not enough rubber, or too much fender gap. lift it some more and put some boggers on it, or lower it with little tires and close the gap.

other than that, she sounds like a sweet truck with all new everything.

Beautiful truck, but I'm not a fan of the rims. Put some super swampers on it!

I agree with the consensus here, the truck is very nicely done, I'm just not a fan of the bling bling rims and especially on a 4x4. The best part is it's yours and you can tell all of us to kiss your @#$

Any under hood pics? Always interested in seeing how other people get the bbc to fit. Looks like lots of nice touches on that truck.

I guess you got more opinions than you bargained for AZ. I think it looks great like it is. Yeah, it's a 4x4, so what. Does that mean it has to have big tires? Not really.....

Re: Finally done!...almost

To hell with what everyone else says. The truck is incredible and half of these guys could only wish to have a ride that looks that nice.

You did a kickass job and the truck looks mint. I can't wait till my ride looks as complete and all around nice like that.

PS - a few parting words:

Opinions are like a**holes. We all have them and they usually stink.

If everybody's truck looked the same we'd get tired looking at them.

Remember: "Variety is the spice of life!" Think of how boring life would be if we ate the same food every meal, wore the same clothes as everyone else and had the same eye, skin and hair color as the rest of the world. It would be pure, unadulterated hell and we would all go nuts.

Keep rockin, man. The truck is awesome.

Re: Finally done!...almost

Well, you know what they say about opinions...lol. It's cool guys, I respect everyones opinions. No harm, no foul. I got the look I was looking for. It's really going to just be a street cruiser for me anyway. No way am I going to romp that thing off road Compared to the 15" rims and 31/10.50's that were on the truck, its a huge improvement in filling in the fenderwells. As for the color, its simply called Metallic Orange from an 04 Chevy. I'll try to post some pics of the engine compartment and anything else any of you request when I get back in town on the weekend.

There is almost no fender gap If the tires were much bigger they would probably rub. I think the truck looks good.

yea there is a ton of gap if he were to lower it. i was comparing lifted/lowered. if he lifts it a little more he can stick bigger tires on it, and if he gets smaller tires and does a few other things he can lower it and get rid that fender gap.
-i'm glad he has it sitting level though. i did notice that, and it looks improved.

I've had my truck for 9 years and it doesn't look anywhere near that. If that saying is true my truck should have turned into a trailer queen by now
Sweet job, love the colors, beautiful truck. Now take some pictures of that 4x4 dirty!

Ten months, actually. Don't know that mine will ever look that good. Nice color combo. I like the silver. (Those who have seen my truck know why)
Great job and great results.
