Taking cab off with steering column attached?
I'm doing my lwb to swb conversion and am almost to the point of lifting the cab off the frame. I want to leave the steering column in place inside the cab because I'm lazy, but need to be able to set the cab close to the ground. I don't want to damage the part of the column that connects with the steering box when I take the cab off which brings me to my question; is there a way to disconnect the column somewhere near the cab without having to take out the ENTIRE column?

Re: Taking cab off with steering column attached?
I think I had to use a couple of 4x4's on top of railroad ties to keep the end of the column from resting on the ground when I set my cab off. I didn't take the center section out or it would have been much shorter.
