Suburban Forum Rules
I want to discuss what board rules should be excepted or enforced in a more lax manner on just the Suburban Forum.
Case in point: This burb owner's recent introductory thread was moved to the Welcome Area: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=178182 This new burb owner described his recent burb acquisition and also posted pics. We have had many such posts over the last year in the burb forum that, to my knowledge, were never moved before. I thought that we burb owners always wanted new burb owners fresh to the board to post their burbs directly to the burb forum even if it is their first post. In any case, I wish burb forum mod(s) would not have moved that thread out of the burb forum. This forum gets few threads per day and new burb owners have traditionally posted directly to the burb forum to introduce themselves. The introductory burb posts are few and far between, so there is no way the burb forum could become cluttered with intro posts. In fact, the burb forum needs more new posts. Sometimes we don't get one a day. I think I can speak for all regular burb forum perusers when I say that we don't want introductory burb owner posts moved out of the burb forum if initiated here. Especially if the thread starter posts pics. ![]() I also think burb forum perusers would welcome any and all burb-specific parts notices. The burb forum is small enough to have more lax rules than the pickup forum, save hard and fast forum rules such as needing to be a subscriber to post parts for sale. I make no complaint. I only wish to see if fellow burb forum perusers would also like these certain forum rules applied uniquely in the burb forum. Just my 2¢. ![]() Discuss...

Re: Suburban Forum Rules
I will discuss this with Josh and oldiron. Just letting you all know that your post has been read and will check into it. I do know that all for sale and wanted post still go to the for sale forums.

Re: Suburban Forum Rules
Thanks, Mudder.
![]() And I really don't want this change done without the other burb forum perusers' input. I don't want this forum to follow me alone. I think we can either come to a consensus or just leave it to the standard board rules.

Re: Suburban Forum Rules
I see your point, but what about the people who want to post electrical in 67-72 or the joke of the day cause it has a 73 in the background pic on 73-87 etc. The seperate boards were made at the majority of the sites request. We have a welcome area so that everyone can get to know the new users, not just one specific area. There is nothing saying a new user cant post a hey first post in burb area check out my ride, but welcome post pics or not belong in welcome. We usually direct the users to the specific area of interest in that post.
The parts thing stinks.. we all agree with that but had to be. We can not monitor every non year specific area for parts for seperate rules or sale posts at this time. Josh has been discussing viable options for the smaller areas parts n all, so if yall have a suggestion without adding more forums please PM him and let him know. I understand your question and concern.. I'm not saying this won't change or will etc.. just giving the answers to what I know. |
