Installing pitman arm? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My new power steering gear and pitman arm are on the bench.

Do I install the pitman arm to the gear BEFORE attaching the gear to the frame rail?

When installing the pitman arm, is it OK to use the nut/washer to crank it down onto the shaft or should I have it pressed in?

Problem solved. I just ran both pieces up to my gear shop.
It will be ready at 4PM
