Th400 question
I have a th400 in my truck this is the first one I have owned all the rest had th350.
Anyway on to the question on the front driver side is a plug or sender with a male electric spade. Nothing is connected to it. What is it? seems to run fine with nothing hooked up to it? Thanks

Re: Th400 question
This is the electric kickdown for passing gear. A wire runs from this to a switch on the gas pedal bracket (on ones with cable operated gas feed) and then from the switch to a hot only with switch on to the fuse panel. On trucks that have a rod operated gas feed the switch is on the carb. Will try to find you pictures of the switchs.

Re: Th400 question
I have the th400. Took the electric kick down out when i swapped motors to clean up the carb area. Didn't notice much change except when passing, it wont kick down ,you have to do it manually

Re: Th400 question
I wonder if I can use any wideopen throtle switch? Or a switch in the cab to make it downshift just joking about that. But I have a switch for an old NOS setup wonder if it would work.

Re: Th400 question
Lokar makes a great kick down switch that's carb actuated.
You could also use a momentary or a push button switch to send voltage. |
