picture request...door sill plates

Can someone please post a picture or two of the factory chrome/stainless door sill plates (installed) on a 73-7? GM pickup truck? I know these sill plates changed shapes at some point...but I think the early/mid/late 70's trucks were all the same. Blazer and Burb are different, so I don't need pics of them...just a pickup setup.

Thanks!

Re: picture request...door sill plates

I don't know anything about when or if they changed but I do have stainless ones installed in my truck. I got them from LMC but could have bought them from the dealer for cheaper. I didn't know this until I got them and they were AC Delco parts. I'll be glad to take some pics for you if it will help. Of course my truck isn't a 73-7?

Edit!

They are not stainless. They are aluminum.

Dang Mike you got me all excited. I thought someone actually made them from stainless. Yours still look much better than the ones in my 77. I think I need to order a set....

Re: picture request...door sill plates

Thanks for the pics Mike, and DAMN yours look nice!! The front ones look identical to mine, but your rear ones are different than what I remember mine looking like where they meet up with the back of the door opening/cab floor...possibly because the three point belt housing is different than the lap belt housing?

Anyone here own a early 70's truck that can snap a pic of theirs???

Re: picture request...door sill plates

They are aluminum and real easy to polish with any billet polish. They shine like new money as you can see. It really looks good with the billet stuff I have inside.

Anyway, I bought these from LMC and after I received them as I said above, they were AC Delco parts. So, I could have bought them at my local dealer for cheaper. Live and learn I guess. I just checked at GM Parts Direct to see if they still list them and they do. I don't know what all years they fit but these are in my 85. I'm guessing as Jeff said, it would have something to do with the seat belts. They are four pieces, two front halves and two back.

GM part numbers are:

471066 - Passenger side/front
471070 - Passenger side/rear
471065 - Driver side/front
471069 - Driver side/rear

If you are able to buy stuff from the dealer at wholesale, you can save money over LMC's prices.

Jeff I can snap mine but not sure if they would be the same as yours being a few years off. If you think they would be the same let me know and I'll take a pic.

I checked with my local GM parts dealer...they told me they were no longer available (they did look them up).

Brandon...snap a pic if you can...I'd appreciate it.

Here ya go Jeff. Sorry so messy. I've not worked on the interior too much yet. I've still got the suspension and driveability to take care of first.

Re: picture request...door sill plates

Thanks for the help everyone. I am 99% sure that the rear sills are different for lap belt only trucks and three point belt trucks. I managed to pick up an entire set of NOS sill plates on Ebay tonight (for only $70). I have been watching these, and was pretty sure they matched what I used to have in Yeller...and after seeing Mikes and Brandons pics...I knew these were indeed the ones I needed. I know for a fact mine did not kick up like the pics you guys posted. Here are the acution pics.

Re: picture request...door sill plates

Nice score Jeff. Are you going to maybe clear powder coat them to protect the finish?

Re: picture request...door sill plates

Jeff,

you are correct in them being different. I just checked in the LMC catalog and it shows them different. It lists them for 73-77 and 78-87. LMC sells the 73-77's for $59.95 but they are probably repops. The 78-87's are the same price. I bought mine from them back in August 2001 for 54.95 and they were as I said, AC Delco.
