Hey guys,

I'm considering ordering the turbo muffler dual exhaust system that LMC offers. Anyone know how it sounds? And the quality of it?

Darcy, can't answer your question on the sound...but our good friend Chris (CaptKaos here on this site) sells an exhaust system for our trucks too...

I like LMC & they are close to me so I buy a lot of parts from them, but I bought the dual exhaust with o-size pipes & it wouldn,t fit right. I had to pack it all up & take it back.

I asked the same question before I bought it. I even asked LMC if they had any problems reported. They said no problems reported. I bought it. It did not fit. LMC said return it but that would have cost me. I kept it and I am going to have to have as least 2 pipes bent. I will never buy another package like that. I should have used my local exhaust guy. Cost will be about the same. Good luck.

I suggest getting two Flowmaster mufflers and Have someone bend the piping to fit. I also recommend the 21/2" piping size for performance and sound. I have two trucks set up this way and they are satisfying to my ears.

I made my own exhaust setup.

I bought a pair of manifold turndowns, and a pair of axle pipes off ebay fairly cheap, bought some aluminized 2.25" piping, and a set of super turbo mufflers. Welded it all together, and other than getting one of my manifold turndown pipes crooked, which made a minor exhaust leak, I had no trouble at all, and loved the sound.

I think I wound up with something like 200 bucks in parts when all was said and done.

Yea Ive heard the same things about the LMC system. Jegs lists a few universal systems also a DynoMax system thats supposed to fit out trucks 4x4 #289-89004, 2x4 #289-89007. $100 pick your own mufflers. I'd trust DynoMax a bit more then LMC.

Whoa, I have one year on my Dynomax and it isn't worth a red cent. Biggest piece of junk. It all went together nicely and looked pretty buy one short year later and the pipe from the cat to the muffler is rusted through and the seems on the mufflers all have leaks. Take it to a local shop. You may pay a touch more but will be much more happy in the longer run.

Dynomax shoud change the name of their company to Don'talast.

I agree. Take it to a local shop. I got a single glass pack put in which splits into two tailpipes and plan on replacing the cat with a "test pipe" very soon since they don't test for emissions on it anymore because of its age. Exhaust shops do great work, but you get what you pay for.

Not trying to hijack Brown Betty's thread, but I had a local muffler shop put a new exhaust system on my last truck. I was happy with the worksmanship and everything, but I did raise an eyebrow

when I saw how he hung everything. Instead of using regular muffler/tailpipe hangars, he welded a short piece of rod from the pipe to where the hangar would normally go. It seemed to work ok, but I sold the truck shortly afterwards so I don't know how it would fare after several months or years. Have any of you guys every seen this done

Theres about 10,000 Dynomax catback owners over a TGO that have never posted anything other then good feedback about DM.

Are you sure the product you guys got was a dynomaz or the jegs knockoff? The systems that come with muffers list aluminized pipe so it is impossible to rust that quickly.

I wont go to muffler shops anymore. They charge too much for thier hour of "hard" work. I have quite a few friends that own muffler shops too I still wont use them any they know why. $300, 1 hour of labor, $20 worth of pipe, $23 a peice mufflers $46 dont add up in my book.

If you want longevity, then purchase a quality "Heavy" pipe to take care of the rust issue. There are all kinds of systems out there and some are quite pricey, but quality is what you pay for. I had my ssystem built and I had a hand in how it was built. (I was right there as he welded it up) I don't let my truck get out of my sight when there is someone else wrenching on it.
