engine mount bracket
i have a set of brackets that have two sets of holes in it (this is the bracket that bolts in to the top of the frame and then down to the front crossmember)
i am bolting in a sbc do i use the top set of holes or the bottom set of holes? and also can someone tell me what the diffrent holes are for? (sbc to bbs or are they I6 to sbc/bbc) just wondering b/c i would love to put a bbc in it later on in life.  please help if you can and if you have any of these brackets and can take pics to help identify these it would be greatly appreciated. thanks gmg

sbc uses the top set of holes, but not sure on bbc

One set is for 6 cylinder (I6) and the other is for 8 cylinder. They are actually marked on the mount which is which. The upper set, if memory serves me correct, is the V8 and the lower is I6.

They are lebeled "6" and "8"...I'll let you figure out which ones do what.

well i didnt think to look for markings but will when i get home also can you give me and idea where they might be marked at front (top) or back (bottom)? thanks for your help. and does this mean that when i buy and build a bbc all i have to do as far as motor mounts is unbolt sbc and bolt in bbc

They are marked immediately to the right of the holes.
