Strait 6 To Smallblock V8 Motor Mounts

Are the motor mounts the same for a smallblock V8 as the ones used on the strait 6 in my 63 chevy pu? I am putting a V8 in and I was told by a guy that did the conversion that the V8 will bolt right to the bellhousing from the strait six but I forgot to ask about the motor mounts. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Bruce

Re: Strait 6 To Smallblock V8 Motor Mounts

Bruce, the mounts for the 230-250 six cylinder engines will bolt right up. The 292 six has the right engine mount kicked forward a few inches, and I think the 292 right hand bracket is different from the 230-250 right hand bracket.

That's really good info for me too. I'm doing the same thing to my '63 swb. Already have an S-10 5 speed in it. The 350 is on my engine stand and in work.
