Need crank and water pump pulleys 87 V20

I have an 87 V20 pickup, with a TBI 350, v-belts (no serp belt). I used to have A/C, but pulled that off recently (pump and brackets). I have P/S and the alternator, water pump to drive, but no pulleys. Does anybody have any decent pulleys for sale? Know how many grooves I need? I would buy Mr Gasket pulleys, but they want $90 for them! Thanks guys.

Hi Erick, thanks for the message. No serp belt on this one. Not sure if I need two or three grooves either. It used to have A/C but I took the compressor and brackets off. Sounds great, thanks very much and look forward to your reply...

Re: Need crank and water pump pulleys 87 V20

Called the dealer today. Parts guy was rude and completely useless. I am trying to figure out what is supposed to be on there, since I have no pulleys now. I can't remember how we determined this, but the alternator runs a v-belt, not a serp belt. I tried to order the brackets for my plow pump, and that guy gave me a hard time too, but did tell me if I had the wrong crank pulley, the non-returnable $90 drive sheave would not work. Can you guys believe GM wants $80 just for the crank pulley, and these guys aren't even sure if it's the right one. The parts guy didn't know what a serp belt was, and told me "I'm not a mechanic". That was his answer to everything. So rude and unprofessional it was unbelievable. And I just kept taking it, where else am I going to go?

Re: Need crank and water pump pulleys 87 V20

Here's the offical response from Mr. Gasket. Also, completely useless. Can you believe this?
Question: Brand: MrGasket
Hello. I need crank and fan pulleys for my 87 V20 pickup. I am not sure what it is supposed to have (number of grooves on crank pulley). It does not have a serpentine belt. Can you advise me which pulley set (chrome sets you sell) would work on this truck? I have to be sure I have the right pulleys so my Fisher plow drive sheave fits the crank pulley correctly. Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Re: Need crank and water pump pulleys 87 V20

Hey crosby ,I have an 85 k5 and have had the same prob also with dealers.
anyway on the pulley situation the inner groove on the crank (close to the block) it drives the power steering pump only. The second groove out goes around the water pump pulley(inner groove) and ac unit and power steering pulley . and the the third goes around the outside groove of the water pump pulley and alt. This is assuming that the ac unit is on the driver side and alt on the pass and the power steering has a two groove pulley. If not two on the power steering then the second grooove will drive only the ac and water pump. Good luck and hope this helps.

Re: Need crank and water pump pulleys 87 V20

Hi Oz, thanks very much for the help. I had A/C, but want to try and set up the truck like it never had it. The power steering pump does have two grooves. So I probably do need the triple crank and double water pump pulleys. Hoping to get this thing running soon!! Thanks again!
